White Sticker newbies !!!

Great new selection for our older/slightly more advanced readers

My New Zealand Story - The Wahine Disaster, Wellington 1968
- written by Shirley Corlett
When Debbie's grandmother gives her a copy of her forefather's old sea journal, she finds it fascinating.
While Debbie's own diary tells of school life and troubles with her friends, excerpts from the diary of 1841 tell of the hardships of life on an emigrant sailing ship.

At home, sick with glandular fever, Debbie feels transported back in time. Is it a feverish hallucination, or is her long-dead relative trying to tell her something?
Following a trip to visit relatives, Debbie boards the ferry to return home to Wellington.

It is April 1968. The ferries name is Wahine...

Bandage Andy Griffens

Andys house

Characters
Andy and the bandage

Main events
Andy taking off his bandage

Problem/Conflict
Andy thought that people with glasses
look smarter so he picked up a pair of
glasses and the last thing he heard was "watch
out", then he fell into a man hole.
The glasses broke and Andy had
a cut under his eye.
His mum does not give him any new bandages,
so he kept the same one on for four months.
He was made to take off the bandage, finally, for
school photos.
Conclusion
He took the bandage off eventually.
However as he used a razor blade to cut it
off, this slipped  and so he  has to
have another new
plaster.

Did you like this book.
I liked it because it was funny and
the writers use of letters and
numbers made me laugh.

Meg!
